soft and flexible ribbon-like material with small bell (which can be removed). very comfortable for most kittens. It has a safety snap lock so it opens with a some force from the kitten. However, having tried several types my kitten unfortunately prefers not to wear one and so removes this one too. maybe others will have more luck.
